This years Canada Games will be hosted by Brandon Manitoba. Like the Olympics, the Canada Games are held every four years. This years team will be chosen in May during the Canada Games trials. Newfoundland and Labrador will take at the most 24 swimmers, 12 males and 12 females. To take the maximum number of swimmers, they would have to obtain time standards set by Swim Newfoundland and Labrador. The standards will be fairly tough and NF will probably send a team of around 20 swimmers.

Other restrictions for this meet are as follows:

- Any swimmer of a National swim team can't attend the Canada Games
- All swimmers must be of Canadien citizianship to attend the Canada games
